Great West Run Training Group

The Great West Run training group is back.

This year, we will be running on Sunday mornings (started on 23rd July). We meet at Exeter Arena (Harriers Pavilion) at 09:00.There is free car parking available at the Arena.

We welcome anyone who’s training for the Great West Run – you don’t have to be a member of SWRR.

This group is not suitable for absolute beginners. It is particularly suitable for anyone who can run 10k but is new to half marathons. We do of course also welcome people who are more experienced and just want to run with an organised group.

Pace is not an issue, but if you’re not already up to running 10k you would be more at home in a different group – we’d be happy to recommend something more appropriate.

We will be publishing a detailed programme of our runs here over the coming weeks.

20th August-Our run this week will see us venture out towards Poltimore and Ratsloe before returning to the Arena, again via Bettysmead 

PLEASE REMEMBER- This week, we will meet in the Arena foyer at 8.45am as we must be away by 9am sharp!

We will try to match runners up with people of similar pace and ability, so that no-one should be tempted to go off too fast and no-one should be left struggling to keep up. We have several qualified leaders who will run at various paces to offer support to a range of runners.

We will ask everyone for £1 a session to cover expenses.
