The GWR Training Group meets at the Exeter Harriers Pavilion, Exeter Arena at 8:30am on Sunday mornings. Occasionally we will run from a different location, but this will be advised in advance.
There is no charge for these training sessions, which are organised by volunteers from South West Road Runners and Women on the Run. Places are limited, so please register your interest and reserve a place by email: email@example.com
Who is it for?
Anyone who is comfortable running 10K; this group does not cater for absolute beginners.
The pace you run at is not important, as we will not all run together, but you will be asked to pair up with someone of a similar pace for safety and to avoid getting lost(!) If you need a walking break during your run, that is fine.
What is provided?
Each Sunday, from 24 July 2016 through to 2 October, there will be a long run scheduled. The runs will be subtly marked and will have a hidden water station at around half way. Most weeks there will be a slightly shorter option available. If you provide your email address, you will also be sent route details in advance.
During the runs you will experience (over different weeks) steeper hills than in GWR, more distance than in GWR and more speed than in GWR (when we go to the Taunton 10K as a warm-up event).
Just a couple - please don't run if you're feeling unwell and please don't wear headphones.
Details of each long run will be finalised as they approach, but many of the earlier ones will include a choice of distance.
